Please call or email to prior farm visit. Why "Frog Hollow Schoolmaster's Homestead?" According to Janet Davis (in the Maryland Room in the Frederick library), our smaller farm was subdivided from a parcel known as "The Year of Plenty" in 1862 and sold to John Smith. Mr. Smith later sold the smaller 13 acre parcel in 1865 to Josiah Bowlus now with a house, a barn, and a chicken house. Mr. Bowlus was the first schoolteacher for the town of Myersville. We welcome you to buy produce in season, black walnut syrup, honey eggs and artisan bakery items at the local Farmers' Markets as well at various special events through the year. We are also NPIP certified to sell hatching eggs, juvenile and adult geese, chickens, and peacocks.
