After consistently being a top sales person for two years at a Chevrolet dealership on Connecticut Avenue in Washington D.C., Benjamin Ourisman opened his own dealership on H Street in 1921. By 1940, Benjamin had expanded into a 5 story building with the country's highest sales of Chevrolets. Soon he opened a new dealership, Mandel Chevrolet in Anacostia. Mandell Ourisman, Benjamin's son, took over the operations of the two dealerships upon his fathers passing in 1955. He combined operations into a single location in Marlow Heights 1962. Operations were expanded by Mandell's sons, John, Robert, and step-son Dan to more than 20 dealerships in 16 locations. We've now been a fixture in the DMV for 100 years!
